NYT conducted some follow up interviews with respondents to their June poll with Siena College who said they had voted for Trump in 2016. The article highlighted these findings from the poll of those voters:
- 86% Supporting Trump again in 2020
- 6% Don’t support Trump but say there’s “some chance” of voting for him again
- 6% “Not really any chance” of supporting Trump
- 2% Don’t support Trump, don’t know if they can vote for him again
Just for perspective, if 2% of Trump 2016 voters in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin had stayed home or voted third party instead, Hillary Clinton would have been elected the 45th president of the United States.
