Washington Post: “Joe Biden on Wednesday afternoon raised questions about President Trump’s mental capacity, saying he did not have the intellectual know-how to combat the coronavirus pandemic.”
“‘After months of failure, he just gave up,’ the Democratic presidential nominee said during a virtual meeting with the Wisconsin delegation. ‘You know, I used to think it was because of his personality, but I just don’t think he can intellectually handle it. I don’t think he’s competent enough to know what to do. He just waved the white flag.’ The comments followed months of criticism from the Trump campaign that Biden has lost a step and doesn’t have the mental acuity to command the nation’s highest office. The Trump campaign this week introduced ads in which a narrator asks ominously, ‘Did something happen to Joe Biden?’ It then shows clips labeled ‘past,’ with Biden in vibrant color, speaking forcefully, and those marked ‘present,’ with Biden depicted in muddy colors, grasping for words and stumbling over sentences.”
