Respected poll analyzer Nate Silver, founder of FiveThirtyEight, tweeted Wednesday morning that polling data point to the 2020 presidential race being “the biggest landslide since 1984.”
Donald Trump is getting absolutely, completely crushed in the polls right now. They point toward the biggest landslide since 1984. Despite that, he has about a 17% chance of winning, which isn't bad. Why? The polls might be wrong! https://t.co/ajG88SznSA

“Donald Trump is getting absolutely, completely crushed in the polls right now,” Silver tweeted. “They point toward the biggest landslide since 1984.” Silver went on to note that while the odds are swinging strongly to Democratic Presidential nominee Joe Biden, incumbent republican Donald Trump still has a 1-in-6 chance of winning the Electoral College.
FiveThirtyEight widened the margin between Biden and Trump, giving Biden an 83 to 17 favorability of winning the White House, after running 40,000 simulations of the election. The site also gives Trump a 1-in-11 chance of losing the popular vote but winning the Electoral College.
