Demonstrating that veterans don’t necessarily understand global politics, war crimes and respect for civilian populations, Rob O’Neill, a Fox News contributor and former member of Navy SEAL Team Six who claims to have been the person who assassinated Osama bin Laden, breaking a SEAL code of silence about their operations in O’Neill’s attempt to capitalize on his military service, called for killing everyone carrying a gun outside Kabul airport, even though the Taliban wasn’t the group responsible for Thursday’s attack.
“It seems to me it’s pretty simple: Everyone outside the wire right now with Humvees and guns is Taliban,” says O’Neil. “They’re all right there. Why don’t we just kill ’em? There’s a good idea. We shouldn’t be negotiating with these guys. They’re not a legitimate government.”
