In a deeply unironic twist, at least several users of alleged free speech platform Truth Social reported their accounts being banned for posting about the Thursday January 6th hearing, Variety reports, showing that Trump and pals were full of shit about combatting the “censorship” that “Big Tech” wrought upon them. “My Truth Social account was just permanently suspended for talking about the January 6th Committee hearings,” said Twitter user Travis Allen, adding “So much for ‘free speech.’ This is censorship!” Allen then added “Banned from Truth Social” to his Twitter bio.
“We reserve the right to, in our sole discretion and without notice or liability, deny access to and use of the service (including blocking certain IP addresses), to any person for any reason or for no reason… We may terminate your use or participation in the service or delete [your account and] any content or information that you posted at any time, without warning, in our sole discretion,” says Truth Social’s terms of service, a quote we’ll include as if right wing hypocrisy is supposed to be surprising or anything new at this point.
