Dem Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes’s office has opened a criminal investigation into disgraced former President Trump and his minions’ attempt to overturn the results of the 2020 election in the state, the Washington Post reports on yet another potential criminal front for the Orange Tyrant.
The probe for now is in a “fact-gathering phase” and is focused on the fake Trump 2020 electors scam led by batshit former Arizona GOP chairwoman “Chemtrails Kelli” Ward. “This is something we’re not going to go into thinking, ‘Maybe we’ll get a conviction,’ or ‘Maybe we have a pretty good chance,'” Mayes’s chief deputy Dan Barr told the Post, adding the case “has to be ironclad shut.”
For those of you thinking “What the fuck?!? How has it taken this long?” here’s your reminder that Kris Mayes has only been at it for six months and until the end of last year the Arizona AG’s office was led by Republican Mark Brnovich, who spent most of the last two years trying to get Trump to endorse him in the GOP Senate primary by pursuing meaningless bullshit voter fraud investigations that went nowhere. Donald returned the favor by undorsing Brnovich before anointing Reptilian fascist Blake Masters to take on Dem Senator Mark Kelly, who won. So did Mayes, by a razor-thin 280 votes against hardcore MAGA candidate Abe Hamadeh. Elections have consequences, fanboys.
