Canvassers with Arizona for Abortion Access, a coalition of reproductive rights organizations including the ACLU and Planned Parenthood Advocates of Arizona, tell NBC News they’ve gathered 506,892 petition signatures over the 383,923 well ahead of the July 3rd deadline to ensure a referendum on constitutional amendment on abortion makes it on the state’s ballot in November.
“This is an issue that people are eager to see on the ballot,” said Arizona for Abortion Access campaign manager Cheryl Bruce. “As our volunteers are out collecting, people are coming up to them, folks are coming up to them and wanting to sign this petition. They want to see access to abortion restored in the state of Arizona.” Well that sure fucking sucks for the MAGA clowns, some of whom were already having a hard time coping with the news out of Florida on a similar measure.
In related news, fat former President Trump’s campaign non-reacted to the Florida Supreme Court’s decision to allow the 6-week ban to take a effect with a statement saying “President Trump supports preserving life but has also made clear that he supports states’ rights because he supports the voters’ right to make decisions for themselves,” and yeah he’s going to have some issues.
