Trump fanboys this week were for the most part understandably displeased with how President Joe Biden seized the initiative on one-on-one debates with disgraced former President Trump, dangling the bait and snagging his slippery, large-mouthed bass of a quarry all to quickly and easily. The reactions largely tell a story of an anxious, apprehensive MAGA base coming pretty close to admitting – some even saying outright – that this is a bad deal and the fat fuck got played.
“Jake Tapper was one of the leading media figures who spread the treasonous Russian collusion hoax. Trump agreeing to him as a moderator is foolish” – Top comment on a PowerLine Blog article printed Wednesday after CNN announced that Tapper and Dana Bash would be the mods, after Trump had already agreed to Biden’s terms. Meaning it was actually considerably more foolish of a move than this commenter understood it to be at the time. He should be even more pissed.
“The debates will be rigged since it’s CNN and ABC. We all know this is a joke intended to make Trump look bad like the sham trials. Old uncle joe will be hopped up on whatever his masters juice him with and Trump will be treated unfairly by the moderators the entire time. It will be cringe all around” – Top comment on Revolver’s article. That’s a lot of upvotes considering the brutal honesty.
“My fear is whether Biden’s willingness to agree to a debate signals he knows something we don’t about Trump’s fate at the corrupt trials being orchestrated against him. If Biden was confident Trump will receive jail time (like if he has prior knowledge) then he could ‘agree’ to the debate knowing he won’t actually have to appear at a debate, and that he can put the blame on Trump that the debate doesn’t happen. I hope that is not the case, but the way the DNC manipulates the system it is not hard for me to imagine” – Top comment on PJ Media’s article, threatening us with a good time in its imaginative and tantalizing conspiracy theory of Trump being in jail by late June.
“Imagine after being challenged by your rival to multiple anytime, anyplace, no-holds-barred UFC cage matches, ignoring your rival but then challenging him to, say, a boxing match. Then saying no head shots, no combinations, only single jabs with each boxer trading shots. Each round would be 30 seconds. And there would be only 2 rounds. That’s what just happened” – Top comment on the New York Post’s article. Well we wouldn’t put it that way exactly, but yeah. That’s what happened.
“It’s a trap” – Top comment on WeLoveTrumpReport’s article. No the commenter’s Disqus name is not “Admiral Akbar” or any other Rebel Alliance leader. It’s not even a Star Wars character.
So President Trump AGREED to a Debate on CNN? I am Not “digging” this. Could be a TRAP. Remember when he kicked CNN’s ass at their own town hall, and the network went BESERK and apologized like Crazy to their Liberal Viewers? DON’T GIVE IN TO THE FAKE NEWS! pic.twitter.com/jmVV1NVvDo

“Jake Tapper and Dana Bash at CNN with no audience. Why would Trump agree to this? Whoever was advising him on personnel choices his first term is apparently still on his payroll” – Top comment on Gateway Pundit’s article. This may in fact be the greatest “MAGA Land” comment in history.
“I agree 100 percent with that analysis and would add that it exposes the fact that Biden will not really debate inside his own party and it could publicly air the fact that Biden has denied RFK secret service protection, making Joey look like the petty douche that he is” – Top comment on the RedState piece “Here’s What Trump Should Do Now to Win the Debates Before They Happen.” The commenter specifically was referring to where TownHall writer Derek Hunter said Trump should challenge Bobby Brainworms to a solo one-on-one debate. Aside from the fact that Kennedy has already challenged Trump and got no response, we agree. Let Bobby croak his way to siphoning off more MAGA anti-vax votes from the guy who still (sometimes) takes credit for it.
Nothing to see here, just a CNN reporter promoting Biden merchandise.
And remember, Trump only "attacks" and "insults" while Biden "leans" and "trolls." https://t.co/W7AmiqZahq

“Joe Biden did not win any debates, but true to form, he does lie like a rug. One warning I have for Donald Trump. Given that the left has already engaged in lawfare election interference like a banana republic. I would not put it past Joey Bribe-him to go full banana and have Trump arrested before or at the debate on charges backed by faked evidence” – Top comment on BizPacReview’s article. If this is the beginning of some effort to set the bar at “If Trump is not cuffed in the middle of the debate then he will have won,” then they should run with it. It should be on Fox News 24/7.
“Can you imagine the size of the dose they’re going to have to give Joe for this? He’ll probably come out with his Aviators on so we can’t see the size of his pupils. This is insane that we have to participate in this stupidity. We now know that the person who occupies the Oval isn’t really anything more than a puppet. I wonder if the writers of Weekend at Bernie’s knew how real their script would come to reality at the highest levels of power. I could swear a big breeze blew the curtain open and I saw obama” – Top comment on Red State’s article. Love the “This is insane that we have to participate in this stupidity,” emphasis ours, buried in the middle of that sob. The “we” is just awesome. Like of course this asshole doesn’t have to watch if he doesn’t want to, it’s that he knows this is potentially existential for Trump – who walked himself into this stupidity – the center of the universe for MAGA Disqus users. As such it’s completely natural for the commenter to feel like he’s a participant rather than a passive audience member. Laughable and pathetic too.
Trump’s one debate term should be to mandate a drug test before Biden takes the stage.

“Everyone knows, it won’t be Trump vs Biden, it’s Trump vs the moderators” – Top comment on Breitbart’s article about the debate schedule. Huh, almost like this guy’s complaining that Trump accepted Biden’s challenge on impulse and thus surrendered any position to negotiate on the moderators. It’s as if such a failure demonstrates a lack of the judgment and savvy necessary to hold the nation’s highest office and that maybe people shouldn’t vote for Trump.
“So, Trump will be debating the CNN moderators while Joe will be rambling about topics not related to the question. Meanwhile, the CNN moderators will be propping him up and undercutting Trump. I have no need to watch this circus. Let’s just vote already. There isn’t a single serious person who hasn’t already made up their mind about who they’re voting for. Not one” – Top comment on the Daily Wire’s story. Wow. That guy seems really upset. Also definitely nails it with “There isn’t a single serious person who hasn’t already made up their mind about who they’re voting for.” That’s actually the whole point of the debate. To get both candidates in front of the non-serious voters to remind them who they are and what the choice is. It’s quite possible, maybe even likely, this commenter realizes that and how much of Trump’s support relies on said non-serious voters open to changing their minds about Donald. Might even be why he’s so upset and refuses to watch “this circus.”
No surprise Biden wanted CNN to "moderate" a debate, and no surprise CNN chose its two biggest flunkies, Tapper and Bash, to handle it. It just underscores how pathetically in the tank for Biden they are, or he would not have asked for them on a short list with other propaganda…

“I think it is incredibly unfair to have debate moderators who are clearly supportive of one participant and against the other. Expect questions for Trump like ‘Would you respect our laws this time if elected?’, etc. The moderators should be neutral” – Top comment on Fox News’s article “CNN’s Jake Tapper, who called Trump’s presidency a ‘nightmare,’ tapped to moderate presidential debate.” You may be starting to form a perception that the word “neutral” does not carry the same meaning to Trump and Fox News fans as it does other people. This perception is not misguided.
With CNN moderating, is it even a debate?
It seems like it should be called something else.
It’d be a far more accurate description of CNN’s intentions to call it something like:
“Live From CNN: Let’s Make Biden Look Presidential While Turning Trump Into A Piñata.” https://t.co/RQD3lwdKcT
— Mike Lee (@BasedMikeLee) May 15, 2024
And finally we have Senator “Based” Mike Lee starting to gin up a narrative justifying Trump fucking off and backing out of the debates. Going to be a long 39 days for him and his ilk.
