Online retailing monolith Amazon wants to undermine the footing discount Chinese fashion outlets like Shein and Temu by opening up a new section of its platform dedicated to cheap clothes made by slave labor that can be shipped inexpensively to Americans, NBC News reports.
Announced at an invite-only conference for Chinese makers, the storefront will feature Chinese-made unbranded clothing typically selling for less than $20. The items sold through the discount store will not be eligible for overnight Prime shipping and will typically arrive at the US destinations in nine to eleven days.
