I think a better description of the show would have been ‘a drag queen show with some of Dolly Parton’s songs in the background.’ We walked out after about 15 minutes as well as about one-third of the audience,” writes Villager Jack Hooven to the editors of Villages-News.com, evidently not content let the early exit alone show his displeasure.
The page for the show at “The Sharon” center’s website literally says “Meet Tora Himan, the dazzling, larger-than-life, and fabulously curvy camp queen! Known for being the ultimate life-of-the-party, Tora is your go-to glam queen with a penchant for pumpkin spice, a love affair with glitter, and an unabashed embrace of her basic bitch persona that you just can’t help but adore. Tora’s journey began in the world of musical theatre, where, despite never landing the coveted boy roles, she gracefully transitioned into becoming the leading lady herself – ultimately blossoming into a full-time drag queen extraordinaire,” emphasis added for the first of new fewer than four occurrences of the string “drag” in a 261-word billing, which Señor Hooven obviously didn’t bother to read.
Still, he might as well be complaining that a Phish tribute band would be some dirty hippies in hemp hoodies… How many actual women do fucking Dolly Parton tributes these days? Lol.
