Volumes of research conducted over the years into traits commonly held by serial killers showed that individuals who had hurt, tortured, or killed an animal did, indeed, correlate with homicidal tendencies much more closely than their non-animal abusing counterparts. More importantly, a history of abusing animals was a significant predictor of future depraved indifference to human life.
