The pastor at New Beginnings Ministries in Warsaw, Ohio has been indicted on seven charges for his role in the January 6th Republican-led domestic terrorist attack on Congress, demonstrating the FBI continues to pursue charges against all participants in the attack.
According to WTVG ABC-13 in Toledo, the FBI received the original tip about William Dunfee in February 2021, when people reported Facebook posts by Dunfee and others indicating Dunfee was urging people to enter the Capitol.
“Pastor Bill and several others of our group made into the interior doors of the Capital. They pushed back and forth with the police. They talked to the officers and told them why they were there,” a post in a Facebook group said. “Not to harm or destroy. They wanted to talk to the Congress. When an officer came back and said that wasn’t possible, they tried to force the doors open.”
The accounts on social media match video and eyewitness testimony of Dunfee’s actions on January 6th. At one point, Dunfee grabbed a blowhorn from another attacker and told police “We want you to understand something. We want Donald Trump, and if Donald Trump is not coming, we are taking our house. We are taking our house.”
