Launch the black helicopters! Sweep for listening devices! The FBI on Thursday arrested a 9/11 conspiracy lawyer who participated in the January 6th Republican-led domestic terrorist attack on Congress after the man was identified using facial recognition technology, NBC News reports.
FBI agents arrested John O’Kelly of East Williston, Long Island, New York and charged him with two felonies related to attacking a DC Metropolitan Police officer and trying to take away the officer’s baton. Federal agents received a tip that O’Kelly participated in the attack and was involved in an assault on a police officer. After obtaining his driver’s license photo from the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles, the FBI matched his face to that of a man caught on bodycam footage assaulting an officer.
O’Kelly has represented a group called Lawyers’ Committee for 9/11 Inquiry, trying to get the federal government to investigate a baseless claim that the Twin Towers were destroyed by pre-planted dynamite, not the impact of two airliners.
