DC Circuit Court Judge Amy Berman Jackson on Thursday sentenced Capitol rioter Albuquerque Head (yeah, that’s really his name) to 90 months in prison for his role in the violent attack on now-former DC Metro Police Officer Mike Fanone during the January 6th, 2021 MAGA insurrection.
“What Mr. Head did was restrain me, choke me and drag me out into the vicious crowd. There’s many people who see my public appearances and the prominence I’ve gained.. as somehow a celebrated level of success. It is not. I would trade all of this attention to return to policing. But I can’t do that” Fanone told the court at the hearing.”Your honor, I would ask you to show Mr. Head the same mercy he showed me on January 6,” Fanone then said to Berman Jackson.
For his part Head declined to speak at his sentencing hearing, instead choosing to leave it to his lawyers in their memo. “Mr. Head boasts considerable experience in the construction industry. He’s touched all of the facets of construction – drywall, roofing, and finishing,” and his former drug abuse problems were among the, uh, mitigating factors presented by his defense team.
