Oath Keepers leader Stewie Rhodes and one of his lieutenants were found guilty Tuesday by a DC jury on charges of seditious conspiracy for their role in the January 6th insurrection over disgraced former President Trump’s humiliating defeat in the 2020 election, Politico’s Kyle Cheney reports.
Jurors had deliberated for three days following the weeks-long trial of the far right terrorist militia leaders Rhodes and his lieutenant Kelly Meggs were convicted while Jessica Watkins, Kenneth Harrelson, and Thomas Caldwell were found not guilty of the most serious charge. All five were convicted of obstruction of a government proceeding. On conspiracy to obstruct a government proceeding, Watkins and Meggs were found guilty while Rhodes and Caldwell walked.
