An employee who was at the Chesapeake, Virginia Walmart where the manager shot and killed six employees before turning the gun on himself has filed a $50 million lawsuit against the big box retailer for negligence, saying she filed complaints with the company about his bizarre behavior, CNN reports. Besides the six fatalities, four people were injured.
Donya Prioleau, an overnight stocker and trainer at the store, would frequently work with night manager Andre Bing who opened fire at the store on the morning of November 22nd, sent numerous complaints detailing bizarre and inappropriate comments made by Bing. Reportedly, he would smile wryly when he asked if they had completed active shooting training. He would ask employees if they used or owned guns. At one point, he told a number of people about intentionally running over a turtle with a lawn mower.
“Despite Mr. Bing’s long-standing pattern of disturbing and threatening behavior, Walmart did not enact any preventative measures to keep Walmart customers and employees safe,” the complaint says, noting that bullets flew by her face as her manager opened fire with a gun he had bought that morning.
