ChiCom Foreign Ministry Spokesman Wang Wenbin on Monday accused the US of flying more than 10 high-altitude spy balloons over the People’s Republic over the last year, the AP reports.
“It is also common for U.S. balloons to illegally enter the airspace of other countries,” said Wang at a daily briefing. “Since last year, U.S. high-altitude balloons have illegally flown over China’s airspace more than 10 times without the approval of Chinese authorities,” he added, without providing any evidence or explaining why the ChiComs did not shoot down the US balloons.
