New York Mayor Eric Adams and NYPD leadership on Tuesday introduced the city to a terrifying new cyber law enforcement unit consisting of an unknown number of large egg-shaped patrol bots, yellow “K5” Boston Dynamics dog-things, and smaller egg-shaped patrol bots that will be deployed to Times Square and subway stations under a pilot program, Bloomberg’s Lauren Nahmias reports.
“Crime is so bad now they have to hire robots there and even then their only job’ll be probably to stop people from buying gas stoves!” Congressman Jim Jordan did not say, but probably thought.
