“Department of Health and Human Services says Michael Caputo has decided to take a leave of absence to ‘focus on his health and the well-being of his family. Mr. Caputo will be on leave for the next 60 days.’ (AKA through the election.)” says CNN reporter Kaitlan Collins on Twitter.
National Zero would also like to take this moment to apologize to readers for a hasty repost on Tuesday which characterized Caputo’s departure as permanent (which it almost certainly is, but that’s besides the point). The sourcing for this was tenuous (not naming names, but you’ll see it in the link) and the article should have been deleted after it became clear on Tuesday night that no other media outlets were reporting the same. We will do better going forward.
