In an appearance in New Hampshire, Third Lady Melania Trump promoted a part of her “Be Best” program that supports her husband’s opioid campaign, the Associated Press reports.
The only problem: The Trump Administration’s approach has failed, with nearly 72,000 people dying of opioid overdoses in 2019, a record number of fatalities in a year.
“Be Best encourages the creation of a safer, healthier and more hopeful world for our children,” Mrs. Trump said. “And thanks to my husband and this administration, we are doing exactly that.”
The third Mrs. Trump did not address the six million Americans or nearly 200,000 infected by the coronavirus, which would certainly put a damper on a “safer, healthier and more hopeful world.”
Making her first solo trip since the coronavirus pandemic hit American shores, the Third Lady’s charm offensive comes in a state her unfaithful husband lost by 6,000 votes in 2016. Most pollsters and forecasters put New Hampshire as going “Likely Democrat” in the upcoming election.
