A tornado ripped through a Pfizer factory and warehouse in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, destroying equipment and drug stockpile that could cause shortages of the medications manufactured there, the Raleigh News and Observer reports. But have no fear because your Viagra supplies are fine: the 1.8 million square foot site only made injectable meds such as neuromuscular blockers, anti-infectives and anesthesia.
The company says the complexity of manufacturing the medications will make finding different suppliers or shifting production difficult. Pfizer estimates that the plant made a quarter of the injectables it supplies to US hospitals.
