The United States House of Representatives on Thursday afternoon packed it in for the weekend after members put in lots of hard work but couldn’t quite figure out how to pass a bill to make sure the government doesn’t shut down at the end of the month, Punchbowl’s Jake Sherman reports.
Hey at least they tried. Don’t be so hard on them guys. They’re people too and the job can be really complicated. How about you try passing trillions of dollars worth of spending bills? Lots of folks don’t understand what goes on at the Capitol. There’s a lot of pressure to deliver and not let the government shut down. It’s really tough to figure this out even when you know what you’re doing.
