Roughly 1,000 people showed up in Portland, Oregon Saturday evening for rally promoted by the far-right, white nationalist group The Proud Boys, far below the ten thousand people the group told city officials to expect, reports Reuters.
After about three hours of speeches and chants, primarily railing on anti-fascists and the Black Lives Matter movement, the pro-fascist Proud Boys rally broke up.
A nearby counter protest with antifa followers and BLM members drowned out some of the Proud Boys speakers.
The Proud Boys acted like their own police force, stopping passersby and demanding to see ID or search for weapons. Other Proud Boy supporters passed out riot-style shields to participants.

Portland Police stopped one vehicle and confiscated firearms, paintball guns, baseball bats and shields from the driver at the end of the rally.
