Poll aggregator and analyst FiveThirtyEight has increased the likelihood that Democratic Presidential nominee Joe Biden will take the November election, putting at an 80% probability that Biden will win both the popular election and the Electoral College.
With exactly 4-to-1 odds of taking the election, FiveThirtyEight’s forecast now reflects the greatest likelihood of a Biden victory, with Biden’s 80% chance compared to Donald Trump’s 20% chance, his lowest during this election cycle.
FiveThirtyEight also lowered the odds of Biden winning the popular vote but losing the Electoral College to a 10% chance, down one point from yesterday.
The analysts at FiveThirtyEight have said that as the election becomes closer, the projections for voting becomes more clear because voter preferences are more defined. While polls have placed an estimated 8 to 14% in either “undecided” or “swayable” prior to the election, more people will settle on a candidate as the election becomes closer.
