Advising that Republicans should find their “offense talking point” and just hammer away at it even if it has nothing to do with the question asked, former three-ring binder aficionado and Trump Administration spokesliar Kayleigh McEneny advises Republicans that they should duplicate disjointed South Carolina Republican Congresswoman Nancy Mace’s interview with George Stephanopoulos as a model.
Just in case you missed it, Stephanopoulos asked Mace about a comment she made in January 2021 about how Donald Trump should be prosecuted for his actions leading to the January 6th Republican-led domestic terrorist attack on Congress. That led to Stephanopoulos noting Trump’s recent defamation case loss, to which Mace responded indignantly that Stephanopoulos was attempting to shame her as a rape victim. As the anchor continued to press her for the basis of her support–her closest response was that it was only a civil ruling–Mace continued to deflect by claiming she was being shamed. (We’ll set aside that Mace was earlier attempting to shame E. Jean Carroll.)
