In what could be seen as a symptom of his extreme paranoia, a precaution in response to real threats to his safety, or some combination thereof, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has at least since last year taken to wearing body armor under his suit, the Moscow Times reports.
The most obvious public instance was at last month’s Moscow Victory Day parade. “This year on May 9, the chief was clearly wearing concealed body armor during the parade. And that precaution, I think, is necessary,” a Russian official told the Times. “God protects the cautious,” said another.
