A senior Conservative Party official placed dozens of bets on when UK Prime Minister would schedule upcoming Parliamentary elections, the fourth Tory, including two members of the House of Commons, under investigation for such wagering, the BBC reports.
A close aide to Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, MP Craig Williams, made a £100 bet on a date three days before Sunak announced on May 22nd that the election would be on July 4th. Members Laura Saunders and Tony Lee are also being investigated by the Gambling Commission, which oversees all betting in Britain, where bookmakers will take your money for anything from the traditional sports games or horse races bets to wagers on when intelligent alien life will be proven or which member of a pop band will leave first.
