California Dem Congressman and Senate candidate Adam Schiff on Saturday told a gathering of wealthy donors in the Hamptons that he thinks Biden is doomed, the New York Times reports.
“I think if he is our nominee, I think we lose,” Schiff said, per a recording. “And we may very, very well lose the Senate and lose our chance to take back the House.” The comments came before the failed assassination attempt on convicted felon former President Trump, which the Times reports took a lot of the momentum out of the efforts inside the Democratic Party to get Biden to step down.
