Wildlife officials in Colorado on Monday said their wolf reintroduction program has not exactly been a success since the Oregon-native canines they relocated to the area have been a bit of a problem for area cattle and sheep, and they’re going to need to relocate them again, the AP reports.
“It was a very, very unique situation right out of the gate and it demanded a unique response and part of that is making sure the pups in particular have a second chance in the wild,” Colorado Parks and Wildlife Director Jeff Davis said at a Monday news conference on the Copper Creek area wolfpack’s upcoming move to some part of the state where there aren’t so many farm animals.
