The leader of a prominent Haitian advocacy group in Springfield, Ohio filed a criminal complaint against both members of the Republican ticket, accusing them of crimes such as aggravated menacing and making false alarms, NBC News reports.
Guerline Jozef, the leader of the Haitian Bridge Alliance, Inc. accused Donald Trump and JD Vance in a 46-page complaint that they knowingly and intentionally. “Despite multiple state officials publicly stating that there is no truth to their claims, Trump and Vance continue to spread statements about Springfield’s Haitian community they know are false,” the complainant writes. “Trump and Vance intentionally made both their statements about migrants abducting and consuming family pets, and their claims that legal migrants are illegal and spreading disease, to cause alarm in the Springfield community and violate” state laws against making false claims to cause alarm.
