The hardcore MAGA Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals on Friday ruled that all state laws allowing for late-arriving ballots to be counted are superseded by federal law saying they must be in by Election Day, thereby changing the rules 11 days before an election like we were told was not okay.
The panel did however kick it back down to the Mississippi district judge who at first had ruled the other way, meaning that this is not a binding order… for now. Who knows what the plaintiffs challenging Mississippi’s law allowing ballots to come in up to five days late to be counted will try next. They might back down considering the number of Republicans voting early/by mail this year.
