It’s one thing to be outraged over the anticipatory obsequiousness demonstrated by Jeff Bezos and that fucking worm who owns the Los Angeles Times plus USA Today for withholding endorsements of Vice president Kamala Harris. The endorsements themselves would’ve meant approximately jack shit before election day and still won’t if Harris wins. The non-endorsements are simply ownership with other business interests outside of media vulnerable to a Trump Reich hedging their bets, deciding they’re happier to live on their knees than die on their feet in Project 2025 World.
That’s a lesser sin than this fucking “firestorm” shit. Holy hell, the utter cuntishness afoot here is nigh indescribable. How do you call yourself a “journalist” when you lead with “President Biden handed ammo to gleeful Republicans Tuesday night when he seemed to refer to former President Trump’s supporters as ‘garbage'” and in that literal sentence you acknowledge that it’s all just outrage circlejerk fuel for the MAGAverse EVEN BEFORE IT ACTUALLY QUOTES BIDEN?!?
Politico Playbook was sucking even more GOP tubular appendages with “APOSTROPHE CATASTROPHE – Last night, KAMALA HARRIS delivered a masterfully staged, tightly scripted and finely toned address to 75,000 supporters at the Ellipse – a closing argument that summed up a remarkable three-month campaign and [blah blah blah] Meanwhile, sitting about 1,000 feet behind her in the White House, President JOE BIDEN was busy undoing all of that, handing Republicans fuel to undermine that argument precisely one week before the first votes get counted.”
Again it’s right fucking there, after they gleefully swallow the load: “You can certainly debate whether the comment genuinely has the power to move votes in the final week or if it’s a Beltway media obsession kindled by people who just days ago were telling people we have to stop getting so offended all the time.” POLITICO IS THE FUCKING “BELTWAY MEDIA.” THEY’RE NOT SOME PIRATE RADIO OUTSIDE RENEGADE OPERATION. THEY’RE KINDLING THIS STUPID SHIT.

We’re not going to get into the weeds. It doesn’t matter what Biden meant. It doesn’t matter that even if the fanboys are hearing what they want to hear it’s still true. The problem is Politico and Axios reporting on the “firestorm” and notionally acknowledging it’s just a circlejerk. That’s the much, much bigger problem than Jeff Bezos supplicating to the Orange God Emperor for mercy.
