A 34-year-old woman became the first woman to free-climb the face of the 3,000 El Capitan granite wall in Yosemite National Park, taking more than 21 hours to complete the quest, ABC News reports.
Rock climber Emily Harrington became just the fourth person to accomplish the feat in one day. She has climbed the rock face many times in the past, but this was the first time she did it in under 24 hours.
In other news, a woman was elected vice president for the first time in American history.
