Tropical Storm Eta, the 28th named storm of the season, which bounced off Central America and headed back north to hit Cuba, is now heading toward southern Florida as it gains strength, the Associated Press reports.
Eta initially made landfall on Thursday, hitting Nicaragua and Honduras as a Category 4 hurricane. The storm caused destruction from Panama to Mexico before turning back into the Gulf of Mexico.
In a historic hurricane season which has seen four storms hit Louisiana, this will be the first storm to hit Florida this year.
