For the second consecutive day, the United States set a record for the number of new daily coronavirus cases, with more than 192,000 registered by COVID Tracking Project and more than 200,000 cited by Worldometers.
Worldometers registered more than 2,000 coronavirus fatalities in one day for the first time since May 7th. COVID Tracking Project recorded 1,862 deaths, with another 82,178 hospitalized, another new high.
Texas, California and Illinois each recorded more than 13,000 new cases, with Michigan also eclipsing 10,000. Texas, Illinois and Pennsylvania logged more than 100 fatalities.
