The Johns Hopkins University COVID tracker, used by government agencies and media organizations alike, this afternoon topped 3.5 million reported coronavirus cases and 138,000 fatalities in the United States since the pandemic hit the nation.
According to the data, the US is home to roughly 25% of the reported coronavirus cases worldwide and 23% of the fatalities.
