SPOILER ALERT: If you’re a fan of Amazon Prime’s The Boys and for whatever reason have yet to see this week’s series finale then, well, definitely don’t click the “Read more” button below…
…and if you’re not a fan or otherwise don’t really care then good, because it’ll be a pain in the ass to explain the context of the above moment, even though the roman-a-clef of the world’s richest man, Gunter Van Ellis, is as subtle as everything else on this show. Especially in the final season after the villain Homelander had gruesomely murdered the already pliant puppet president of the United States in the Oval Office – to promote the even more pliant puppet vice president – whilst also on a campaign to install himself as a living, immortal God atop the “Democratic Church of America.”
Yeah… But thanks to a deus ex machina, Homelander was rendered mortal shortly thereafter and…
…the power fantasy ending denied in our current ugly reality with our Homelander.
To which our Van Ellis reacted thusly…
Pathetic

Now maybe one could see the “pathetic” as an accurate description of actor Anthony Starr’s brilliant performance and body language in the moment. He’s been playing the character for seven years now and to end it as such after dozens and dozens of hours of unremitting brutality like this…
…requires selling it well. He fucking sold it. Whatever other very much valid complaints fans have had about the show over the years never has Starr’s presence been anywhere near the list.
But Ketamine Brain, as you might have already gotten, was not praising Starr. He was agreeing with some rando MAGA dickbag complaining “This entire show was just a deranged sexual humiliation fantasy projected onto Trump. They can’t even produce a decent superhero parody without injecting their twisted fetishes into every script” (Keep in mind “they” are the same brand that put the Melania “documentary” in theaters to a staggering $15 million net after a $75 million spend this year).
And as documented by The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke, Elon kept going…
So you’re just like a terrible person, then. So much hate for Christians and conservatives and even independents like Elon. It just seethed through this entire series, but went over the top in the last few seasons. Unbearable.

…but then swears he didn’t watch…
I didn’t watch the show tbh

Maybe the best part is how (apparently) he’s avoiding the Van Ellis part and going straight for the Homelander end, obviously hypersensitive to the direct parody of him and generalizing it.
