The Reid Out takes over the network’s 7 p.m. ET time slot, which has been broadcasting a generic show with a number of different hosts since canceling Hardball when Chris Matthews suddenly left the network in February after Matthews acknowledged inappropriate interactions with female staffers.
Reid has hosted the MSNBC weekend morning show AM Joy since May 2016. Prior to that, she hosted the Reid Reports on the network for one year, and she was the managing editor for TheGrio website from 2011 to 2014.
