Republican members of the Georgia House delegation objected to the submission of the certificate of the Electoral College votes from the state, but Senators who had previously signed on to the object withdrew their support after the attempted insurrection at the Capitol building Wednesday afternoon.
Congressional rules require that at least one member of the House and one Senator sign on to any objection. With no Senator signing on to it, the objection was therefore rejected, causing the Democratic side of the House chamber to erupt in applause.
The unidentified white male House member from Georgia raised the objection, stating that Senate supporters withdrew their support.
UPDATE (12:01 a.m. ET): Same situation for Michigan. Michigan House members objected, but no Senator signed off on the objection.
UPDATE (12:06 a.m. ET): For the votes from Nevada, various House members from other states objected. It had no Senate support.
