North Korean dictator and Donald Trump lover Kim Jong Un has vowed to increase the development of his country’s nuclear arsenal, calling the United States his country’s “biggest enemy,” NPR reports.
Trump had boasted early in his term that he had eliminated the threat from North Korean nuclear weapons, stating on his now-deleted Twitter account that Americans can “sleep well” because he met with Kim in a highly controversial summit.
“Our external political activities must focus on controlling and subjugating the United States, our archenemy and the biggest stumbling block to the development of our revolution,” Kim said, according to the official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA). “No matter who takes power in the United States, its true nature and its policy toward our country will never change.”
At the ruling Workers Party 8th congress in Pyongyang, Kim announced his intention to develop solid-fuel nuclear missiles, a more stable, reliable propulsion system that can boost effect range for the weapons. He also said that he is authorizing the development of tactical nuclear weapons, so-called “battlefield nukes,” with smaller yields to be used close-in to military positions.
Trump claimed his policy of meeting with and legitimizing the North Korean leader led to a safer Korean peninsula, at one point making the false claim that Kim had agreed to eliminate his nuclear arsenal. Trump insisted he deserved the “Noble” Peace Prize for his efforts.
Instead, Kim got a photo op with the President of the United States, elevating his statue on the world state.
