One of the ten House Republicans who voted to impeach Donald Trump for incitement of insurrection, Illinois Congressman Adam Kinzinger, has been censured by his county Republican Party for breaking with Republican dogma that Trump can do no wrong, Politico reports.
Kinzinger, who stated that he would vote to remove Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene from her committee assignments for promoting violence and conspiracy theories, has been a vocal critic of the abasement Trumpism brought to the GOP.
The LaSalle County Republican Central Committee issued a statement saying that Kinzinger took actions “contrary to the values” of the Republican Party, which appears to be an endorsement of inciting violence. Only 12% of the committee voted to support Kinzinger.
