Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel: “A Wisconsin elections commissioner said Tuesday he would not participate in deciding complaints he brought against the head of his agency and Gov. Tony Evers. The decision not to participate in the cases will leave them to be decided by three Democrats and two Republicans. That raises the likelihood that the Wisconsin Elections Commission will rule in the favor of the Democratic governor and the commission’s nonpartisan director, Meagan Wolfe.”
“Dean Knudson, a Republican on the commission, filed complaints in December against Evers and Wolfe over how the state finalized results confirming Joe Biden had beaten Donald Trump in the state’s presidential election. He contended the commission should have had a chance to weigh in on how to handle the election results before the Democratic chairwoman, Ann Jacobs, finalized them. Knudson is not seeking to overturn the state’s results or sanction Evers or Wolfe. Rather, he wants the commission to issue a ruling that says results won’t be handled the same way in future elections. Attorneys for Evers and Wolfe say the two handled certifying the results properly.”
