The iconic American fast food chain, McDonald’s, will require all patrons entering any of its 14,000 restaurants nationwide to be wearing a mask or a face covering as of August 1st, USA Today reports.
The chain joins a growing list of businesses that require customers to wear protective face coverings to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
“While nearly 82% of our restaurants are in states or localities that require facial coverings for both crew and customers today, it’s important we protect the safety of all employees and customers,” the company said in a statement.
Walmart, Target, Lowes, CVS and Walgreens are among the national chains that require face coverings in their stores, regardless of local regulations.
