Jack Ciattarelli, a former member of the state house, won the Republican primary for the nomination for New Jersey governor and will take on incumbent Democratic Governor Phil Murphy in a November election, CNN reports.
The mainstream GOP choice, Ciattarelli won the four-candidate race against engineer Hirsh Singh, pastor Phil Rizzo and former Franklin, New Jersey Mayor Brian Levine. Ciattarelli ran for the Republican gubernatorial nomination in 2017, but finished second behind Kim Guadagno, who ultimately lost to Murphy.
Ciattarelli runs a medical publishing company. He has served in various elected posts from town council to the state assembly.
