A company-wide meeting for Cyber Ninjas needs just one seat

Cyber Ninjas’ chief executive Doug Logan is the heart and soul of the company.  He’s also apparently the sales department, human resource team, the purchasing office and the catch-all general mailbox, CNN reports.

You see, when you call the Cyber Ninjas office and get in their phone tree, no matter what option you try, you get connected to Doug Logan’s voice mail.  Three for sales?  “Hi, this is Doug Logan…”  Four for HR?  “Hi, this is Doug Logan….”  You get the picture.

Logan’s profile has been very low as his company takes on its first ever election ballot recount.  He prefers to have others speak for him and his company.  His performance at an April 22nd press conference may explain why:  he repeated debunked election conspiracy theories that were questioned by reporters.  At the end, he claimed his beliefs didn’t matter; his job was to ensure voters had confidence in the election process.

Logan’s friends, the people who know him best, say he’s “gone nuts” about this election for some reason.

“It’s hard to say anything bad about the guy. He’s a lovely person. He’s just nuts now,” said Tony Summerlin, who has been friends with Logan for 15 years, and said he helped him win a cybersecurity contract with the Federal Communications Commission five years ago. “It’s scary; because if someone like him can turn into this, who can’t turn into this?”

The 41-year-old Logan, who says he’s the father of eleven children and a “follower of Jesus,” apparently had legit tech chops at one point.  He participated in the 2006 Cybersecurity Challenge, a weekend hackathon that helps identify cybersecurity talent for government agencies and private companies.  By the next year, he was helping organizers write the curriculum for it.

The company got nearly $100,000 in COVID assistance in 2020, claiming five people on the payroll.  But how he got a $150,000 contract to conduct an audit of Maricopa County election ballots is still a mystery.

Perhaps he should have listened to his comment at the April 22nd press conference:  “I know you guys want to paint me like some bad guy in here. I’m involved in this and putting everything on the line with my company because I care about our country. … Otherwise, who would be stupid enough to walk into this? Every individual that walks into any election integrity thing gets butchered by everybody.”
