Retail giant Walmart will require workers to wear masks at its stores, warehouses and transportation hubs in regions of the country experiencing a high number of new coronavirus cases, and it will request customers to wear masks in those stores, the Associated Press reports.
In a memo sent to workers Friday, the superstore chain instructed stores in those areas to re-post signs about masking and other actions that can prevent the spread of coronavirus by store associates and shoppers.
Walmart will also increase the incentive for its workers to get vaccinated, raising the bonus from $75 to $150. Workers who already got the first $75 bonus will receive a second $75 payment in their August 19th paycheck.
