A Georgia school district will start all-virtual classes after three members of the transportation team were diagnosed with coronavirus, putting a strain on the ability to bus students to school, the Associated Press reports.
The Griffin-Spalding County School District, with 9,700 students, will become part of the 210,000 Georgia students who have had their school years disrupted because of coronavirus outbreaks. Shutdowns or virtual classes have been implemented in 51 of Georgia’s 181 school districts and charter networks.
Two bus drivers and a bus monitor in Griffin-Spalding County have been diagnosed with COVID in the last week. The district started in-person classes during the first week of August.
