Saturday Night Live will pre-tape Saturday night’s episode without a studio audience, and the planned musical guest, Carli XCX won’t perform as the omicron variant of the coronavirus causes significant disruption in the New York City area, the Associated Press reports.
Host Paul Rudd will emcee the show for the fifth time, but the sketch comedy show will be radically different. The show will be pre-taped, not live, and there will be no studio audience, so no laughter from a crowd.
“Due to the limited crew at tonight’s taping of snl my musical performances will no longer be able to go ahead,” Carli XCX announced on Twitter. “I am devastated and heartbroken.”
