One of the segments presented during the Democratic National Convention featured the plight of Ady Barkan, an Israeli-American lawyer who was stricken with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease, four years ago when he was just 32-years-old.

Barkan has become an activist for disabled rights and access to health care. He’s been very active fighting plans proposed by the Trump Administration and republicans to cut benefits for disabled people available through Medicare.
