One day after it was revealed that the Czech Republic has been supplying Soviet-era tanks to the Ukraine army, Slovakia has offered to provide and deliver its Soviet-era air defense systems to Ukraine, the Washington Post reports.
The only condition on the offer would be that Slovakia gets to purchase a new system of its own from one of its NATO partners. While Slovakia has made the offer before, Russia’s threat to see any shipments as a legitimate target of war regardless of where they are has paused deliveries to Ukraine.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, to whom Donald Trump once disclosed classified information about a foreign agent who then disappeared, has said Russia will not allow the transfer of the S-300 missile systems from Slovakia or from NATO members Greece and Bulgaria who also offered their missiles to Ukraine.
